Confederate cannon at the ready on the Battlefield at Perryville, Choctaw Nation, I.T.

Whooweee These am som good sites
The Prairie County Avengers This here is my favorite musical group.  Seriously though the Prairie County Avengers have an  "authentic sound" of the WBTS. They extensively research old-time music and use period instruments whenever possible. They have been nominated for New Album of the Year and Single of the Year in the 2005 Southern Heritage Music Awards.
Oklahoma Historical Society Look at the publications page and the The Chronicles of Oklahoma. This is a good place for history of Indian Territory and the State of Oklahoma.
Battle of Perryville Choctaw Nation I.T. Re-enactment Re-enactors mostly from Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas recreate the August 26, 1863 Battle for the Choctaw Capitol. The reenactment takes place on the actual battlefield.
Dyer-Toney Confederate Field Hospital A reenacting organization dedicated to portraying the medical aspects of the War Between the States with an emphasis on Indian Territory. This site is a little dated but gives you some reference to medical care in Indian Territory. .

Debray's 26th Texas Cavalry The 26th Texas portrays a dismounted cavalry unit.
1st Arkansas Infantry Battalion

Many men from Arkansas and Texas fought in Indian Territory. The 1st Arkansas Infantry Battalion is a high-quality battalion of reenactors aggressively interpreting the era of the War Between the States in an extremely authentic manner.  Chck them out!

The Civil War in Indian Territory/Oklahoma - The Story in Brief Good site! This is mostly about the Chrokee involvement but does give lots of historical facts about all of the Indian Nations.
CIVIL WAR IN INDIAN TERRITORY This page list both Confederate and Union forces in Indian Territory.
Confederate Memorial Museum & Cemetery in Atoka, Oklahoma

Civil War Album Civil War in Indian Territory, one of the many selections of CivilWarAlbum.com. You can click on the pictures to open pages full of information about the WBTS in Indian Territory.
Battle of Honey Springs On July 17, 1863 the largest battle fought in Indian Territory took place on Elk Creek at Honey Springs near current day Checotah. The Battlefield is managed by the State of Oklahoma and is located approximately 2 1/4 miles north of I-40 off U.S. 69.
HISTORY of the 1st Cherokee Mounted [Volunteers] Rifles

Very good information about Gen. Stand Watie's (Brig. Gen Tuklo Bish-Ko-Kos) 1st Cherokee Mounted Rifles.  If you are interested in reenacting with this group Rev. Jim Robins who plays Gen. Watie is a good man to do it with.  Their recruiting web page is  http://jimrobins.cherokee-online.com/recruit.php.  If you are interested in joining the 1st Cherokee Mounted Rifles, and be part of the events that were faught here in the Indian Territory, Arkansas and Missouri contact Rev. Robins at robinsjl@sbcglobal.net tell him you saw his link on Major Langley's web page.
